About the Artist

Rocks have always intrigued me. Place me in a store with a bowl full of smooth pretties, and I'm digging through that bowl, admiring color, shape, and feel. Five years ago I was introduced jewelry with stones - not your typical gemstones - as the focal point. That furthered my interest and inspired me to learn how to create those stone-centric jewelry pieces for myself.

It started with tumbling the stones to create a glossy rock. Then it went to cutting shapes for tumble polishing and wrapping. I created some of my first wire-wrapped jewelry using simple tumbled polished shapes.

And slowly my delight in hand-shaped and polished rocks grew. I love the ability to spotlight some of the gems nature created. I love the ability to shape the stone to accentuate those patterns. And I love the ability to further play with those patterns by finishing the pieces in silver, gold, and copper for ornamentation.

But mostly, I love the ability to wear the wonderful colors and patterns those precious rocks have formed and to know that others are wearing custom-made stone jewelry pieces created by me. So thank you for your interest. I hope you enjoy my wire-wrapped jewelry and rock and metal pieces.

A little more about me - I'm the second-eldest of four girls. I grew up an Army brat, calling thirteen different houses home before I graduated college. I enjoy traveling and look forward to seeing the last five states I haven't visited. I have a Master's degree in English from the University of Virginia, but the majority of my professional work has been technology related. Most of all, I love nature.

I currently live in Ottawa, Kansas with my dog 'Liza and about 1500 pounds of rocks.
